Hardware Store Floods 5 feet deep
This hardware store warehouse flooded five feet deep when a water main broke at the street. The Fire Department was able to pump out a majority of the water, then SERVPRO of Edison picked it up from there. Our Production Manager, Tom Wetherell arrived onsite in the early afternoon to coordinate a restoration plan with the Fire Department, Insurance agencies, and the business owner. Then, our highly trained water damage restoration technicians set up extraction equipment to remove the remaining water. Our crew diligently worked well into the evening to extract water that continued to drain out of storage shelves and damaged merchandise. We worked over the next few days with the business owners to dispose of damaged merchandise and kept Dehumidifiers and Air Movers on site to ensure the humidity would remain at safe levels.
